It said the number of cases reported globally on Feb 25 exceeded the number of new cases in China for the first time, marking a shift in the outbreak. Italy, Iran and South Korea have seen a surge in infections over the past week. However, the WHO has insisted that the virus can still be contained and does not amount to a pandemic.
